Ready for an Organized Life?

What is Your Most Productive Time to Organize?

Have you ever given any thought to when you are at your best?

If I was required to start my day at 7am I would be way less productive overall. I can barely move let alone think and talk at that time of day.   I find inspiration later in the day. I've always been a night owl. My energy is on full blast after 12pm, allowing me to give my most focused attention. For some of you it might be just the opposite. You might rise with the roosters and start your day off with a bang only to flicker out by the afternoon.

Whatever your inclination, learn to go with your natural flow when it comes to being productive. This isn't permission to procrastinate, this is simply an invitation to produce when you feel inspired.  Otherwise it will feel like an uphill battle. Figuring out when you have the most energy will make those mundane tasks not seem as bad. Having more mental and physical energy helps you breeze through any project.

Working when your cup is full will make you more productive than trying to squeeze out the last drops of energy. This again, is why it's important to not procrastinate. Don't let little tasks keep piling up, tackle them when you are full of energy and you will find your energy grow instead of die.

Once you figure out when you are best suited to tackle your tasks it time to talk about making sure you give it the proper amount of time. You might be thinking,”I have a busy family, when can I find time to organize?” I find that if I do things a little at a time and more in the moment I get things done.  Not when I feel like it, not when it’s convenient, but when it’s scheduled.

Put it on your calendar if you have to, “finish the laundry”, “put away the toys”, “clean out the closet”. Once you put forth focused time and effort to organize, even if that means 15 minutes here, 15 minutes there, you'll realize a little work on an impending task helps take the edge off.
If you forgo it all together this is when the pileup happens.

Some work in life just has to be done in order for the fun to happen. Sledding down a beautiful snow filled mountain still requires you to climb back up, if you want to go again.
