When it comes to organizing it’s not only how things feel but also how they fit and function. You can organize your belongings all day long but if you don’t create a system that fits and functions for you, it will never work. There is no one right way to get things done. Whether you take ten minutes a day, one hour a week, or a day a month to organize, the idea is just to get into the habit of doing it.
Put it in your schedule. “I will go through my closet every third Thursday of the month” or “I will organize my office every Monday.” Whatever it is just stick to it. Seeds of change take time to grow, Just keep watering them and you will have your harvest before you know it.
If you take zero minutes a day, zero days a week, zero times a month, you will wind up with zero progress. Continuing to put one foot in front of the other is what it will take to see real, long-lasting change. When there are setbacks, making an effort may seem insignificant at the moment, but you will notice that small efforts (or none at all) add up to a lot.
